Who is David Foster? | Soundtrack of Our Lives

David Foster, OC, OOC, OBC is a Canadian musician, record producer, composer, singer, songwriter and arranger born in Victoria, British Columbia. David began studying piano at age four. As the story goes, his mother was dusting the family piano, hit one of the keys, and was shocked when David correctly called out, “That’s an E!”, thus discovering he had perfect pitch.

The 16-time Grammy Award winner (including three for Producer of the Year) with an unprecedented 50 Grammy nominations, a recipient of 7 Canadian Juno Awards, an Emmy Award and a three time Oscar nominee, all over the course of four extraordinarily successful decades.

David has been a producer for many successful musical artists including Bryan Adams, Christina Aguilera, Air Supply, All-4-One, The Bee Gees, Andrea Bocelli, Boz Scaggs, Toni Braxton, Michael Bublé, Mariah Carey, Charice, Cher, Chicago, Destiny's Child, The Corrs, Neil Diamond, Céline Dion, Earth Wind and Fire, Gloria Estefan, Jackie Evancho, Josh Groban, Hall & Oates, Keith Harkin, Whitney Houston, Janet Jackson, Michael Jackson, Katherine Jenkins, Chaka Khan, Beyoncé Knowles, Kenny Loggins, Jennifer Lopez, Madonna, Olivia Newton-John, Nsync, Prince, LeAnn Rimes, Kenny Rogers, Seal, Rod Stewart, Barbra Streisand, Donna Summer, Tamia, The Tubes, Shania Twain, and Yuna.

David Foster’s success in the music industry over the last four decades, has also allowed him the opportunity to give back to his community and reach out to children. Meeting with a young girl from his hometown who was awaiting a Life-saving liver transplant had a profound impact and in 1986 he established the David Foster Foundation, which was originally based in British Columbia but in 2006 became a National foundation, helping families of children needing life-saving organ transplants with their non-medical expenses. Over more than 28 years, Foster has raised millions of dollars and assisted close to 1,000 Canadian families through his foundation
