University of Victoria's Student Club, Society For Indian Classical Arts (SICA) is presenting "Intimacy: Exploring Shiva through Dance and Poetry", a Bharatanatyam Dance Performance written and performed by Anusha Fernando. Bharatanatyam is the south indian classical dance.

Anusha Fernando (http://www.shaktidancesociety.com) will perform a solo Bharata Natyam recital of traditional repertoire and poetry in praise of Lord Shiva. Based on the poetry of Mahadevyakka, and featuring choreography of Jayalakshmi Ishwar, this piece will explore the content of Bharatanatyam through drama, narration and dance.
