Event Description

Victoria Folk Music Society weekly gathering, Open Stage 7:30pm, Feature Performer Steluta at 9pm, 1110 Hillside Avenue, $8 cash, Everyone welcome!

Steluţa, Romanian for “little star”, plays a constellation of musical styles! From Romany songs to lively Greek and Eastern European folk dances, interspersed with a bit of Irish as well as distinctive original tunes and occasionally “classical” ones, this acoustic quartet from Victoria shines brightly in an evening or a daytime concert.

Steluţa members are:
• Martina Peladeau: flutes, recorders, voice, composer
• Kate Rhodes: violin, viola, accordion, voice
• Douglas Hensley: guitars, oud, composer
• Alex Olson, double bass, mandolin, mandola, percussion, voice, composer

Steluţa’s first CD “Between the Woods and the Water” was released in 2021 and is available on all media platforms.
