The Victoria Folk Music Society (VFMS) is thrilled to be returning to Norway House September 3rd to kick off our 49th year of Sunday night musical gatherings!
Dubbed one of the hardest working duos on the circuit, UK-based Winter Wilson has performed in Germany, Australia, Spain, Canada, Belgium, and New Zealand, and we are beyond delighted to be hosting them September 3 as part of their BC tour.
Kip Winter (vocals, accordion, guitar, flute) has a voice to die for while Dave Wilson (vocals, guitar and banjo) is rightly recognized as being in the top tier of British songwriters with his songs sung in folk clubs across the UK and beyond. Together, their voices are sublime and it is in live performance where Winter Wilson really excels! They've released a string of critically acclaimed albums, one of the highlights being 2019’s 'Live & Unconventional' recorded on tour and at Cropredy Festival with folk rock icons Fairport Convention … the reviews were exceptional!
Winter Wilson brings a sense of intimacy to every venue they play, blending superb, often hard-hitting original songs with stunning harmonies and musicianship, great humour, and hilarious tales of life on the road. You will laugh; you may cry; you will certainly want to see them again!
