Veteran folkie Rick Scott is a champion of the imagination and an advocate for the agelessness of fun! Since pioneering BC rogue folk with Pied Pumkin in the 1970s, his unique alchemy of music, storytelling and humour has earned him audiences from four generations.
Canada’s leading proponent of Appalachian mountain dulcimer, Rick has played in 11 countries, released 18 recordings, and has been honoured with 3 Juno nominations as well as Parents’ Choice, WCMA and Canadian Folk Music Awards. He’s Goodwill Ambassador for the Down Syndrome Resource Foundation, curator of the Protection Island Museum, and a member of the BC Entertainment Hall of Fame. You’ll find his star across from the Orpheum on Granville Street close to where he began his career as a busker a half century ago! Look for Rick’s free “Dulcimer My Way” instructional videos and “Tuneful Tales” on the RickScottDulcimer youtube channel premiering this fall.
The VFMS is delighted to welcome Rick back for his sixth feature performance at our club! You’ll be so glad you came!!
